Wanted: Any information about the burial  of  Joshua Dickens (known as Joshua Jr.) my g-grandfather b. 1845, d. in or shortly before 1908. I was told years ago that he was buried in Smith County, TN. Cannot find proof.
FOUND:  Rev. John Dickens Jr. of Smith Co. TN, my g-g-grandfather b.1813 - d.1862. John enlisted in the Confederate States Army on September 7, 1861 and died on February 24, 1862. I'm trying to reconstruct the events leading up to his death and should have a new Web page within the next few days. He is father of Joshua Jr. (above).
Yes, father and son are both Jr. It is not a typing error.
Thanks: to Bob Dickens-Tobin for information leading to the above dates and events. (September 1, 2008.)
Sorry, but I don't always remember to list updates on this page.
